Are You Going to the ‘Private Flyer’ Show?

The Private Flyer show will take place this week on Friday and Saturday (17-18 May 2024).

Check out the programme (hosted by Flying Reporter, Jon Hunt) and list of exhibitors at the Private Flyer website. This also outlines clearly all the show’s attractions.

GAAC will not have a stand this year but some of our key supporters, who have representation on the GAAC Board, will be exhibiting – namely the BMAA/’British Microlighting’, BWPA, AOPA UK and BBGA.

If you want to meet someone from GAAC and ask a question about Airfields please send a message via our website and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Or ask on the AOPA stand.

The next GAAC Board Meeting (and AGM) will be at Turweston Aerodrome on 18th June and with long-time GAAC Chair Charles Henry stepping down this year, nominations are due for his replacement. It is hoped that Charles will stay on as Hon. Vice-President.

Please note that there is no AeroExpo show this year. It is our understanding that this event, which usually takes place in June at Sywell Aerodrome, is being evaluated by Flying Media Group, the US company that acquired AvBuyer Limited last year.

GAAC feels it’s vitally important that the UK has a main GA show and that is at the moment Private Flyer, along with Private Flyer North (to be held at Leeds East, 5th & 6th July 2024).

Note the a Classic Car event and British Golf Show are held concurrently alongside Private Flyer South at Booker, so there’s plenty to see and do and for only £15 booked in advance (£20 on the gate).

Those flying in get free entry with a half-price landing fee (so for most light aircraft it will only be £10).

At the moment, there’s a small chance of rain until 1600 on Saturday so it may well be worth making a plan to fly in to Booker – but be sure to follow the instructions carefully.

We hope to see you there!
