UK General Aviation Airfields

Airfields Listed
0

For a list of the main UK GA airfields please see below. This site has a growing list of 183 UK airfields and heliports (as of 25th January 2024), including military airfields (not included below). For a list of airports that have closed over the past few years, please click HERE.

The following is a non-exhaustive list of the main airfields and airports in the British Isles. We understand that there is a total of at least 750 airfields/helipads in the UK (in fact the total may be around 1200 including all private grass airstrips, according to SkyDemon) – so we are glad to add yours if it is missing from this list. There are probably almost 6,000 former or current flying sites in the British Isles but many have been lost, closed or abandoned over the past 100 years (Source: www.ukairfieldguide.net). The GAAC therefore strives to keep any that remain that it makes sense to keep (and we do need your help for this please!)

To advise of of additions or amendments please e-mail Ian Sheppard at gaac.alerts@gmail.com.

LATEST ADDED: COAL ASTON, 5 June 2023.
